My aunt lived in the same house for 34 years.
For the last 15 of those years, she lived there alone.
In 2017, the government relocated all the (mainly elderly) residents in her estate to make way for a new development.
She packed very slowly, but the vast array of household objects eventually disappeared into monotonous cardboard boxes.
She has also shopped for small items in anticipation of the move. The stark newness of the items on sale always seem to make her fade a little.
